To support our global business, Luxottica operates multiple manufacturing and logistics facilities across North America to support our retail stores and wholesale customers.
The Sr. Manager of Associate Relations provides advice and consultation to support Luxottica’s positive associate relations strategy, including but not limited to: investigation of associate open door concerns, consultation with cross functional partners to bring resolution to associates’ questions/concerns in a timely manner, interpretation of company policies for management, assisting management to address associate performance issues, identifying resources to support management’s HR needs, counseling management regarding their responsibilities, supporting compliance efforts and coaching on changes in relevant laws/regulations, interpreting and applying relevant contract provision in union stores.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes lead investigative role as part of the Associate Relations Center of Excellence when issues are: Complex and/or High-Level Risk, Unresolved at Tier 2, disciplinary action and/or termination disputes.
Investigates issues by assembling all relevant facts, interviewing case critical witnesses, reviewing similar cases, using knowledge, judgment & experience to recommend a course of action to brand leadership.
Handles complex and emotionally charged issues with composure by addressing the situation objectively, remaining unbiased.
Ensures company policies and practices are followed consistently and fairly and initiates policy changes with leadership when necessitated by current operation needs, legal changes, and required clarifications.
Interprets and applies applicable labor and employment laws, regulations and standards at the federal and state level for applicable laws of Canada.
Accountable for identification, prioritizing, and issue resolution/escalation within established timelines. Partners with relevant brand/department operations leadership.
Identifies risk and potential company liability and uses sound judgment in obtaining legal counsel when warranted.
Develops realistic plans, action steps and timetables for projects and assignments.
8+ years’ experience in employee and labor relations or related field
3+ years of related human resources experience or proven record of business management experience
Ability to travel when necessary (10% or less)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent listening skills and ability to accurately document interviews as necessary to mitigate risk
Demonstrated ability to handle extremely difficult or volatile situations/individuals effectively
Strong consultative and analytical skills and ability to exercise independent judgment based on core policies and practices of the Company
Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience
PHR or SPHR certification
Bilingual in French and/or Spanish
