GENERAL FUNCTION

The Finance Manager is a member of the EyeMed Pricing organization and serves as the primary financial resource for business development activities, focuses on pricing of new business acquisition and retention of existing client renewals; supports the strategic approach to commercial client acquisitions; and assesses the impact to organizational objectives, ensuring all financial commitments are met. The Manager also serves as the lead resource for collaboration with our Underwriting companies. The Manager supports the Underwriting and Pricing department’s strategic initiatives and research and development of advanced pricing methodologies.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages assigned Underwriting and Pricing segment or region, handling the end-to-end process of new business acquisition pricing and Proforma evaluation of client accounts. Documents deals and conducts post-closure analysis of significant accounts.

  • Ensures the timely completion of all financial analyses related to EyeMed's financial pricing, presents clear and concise conclusions appropriate for executive review.

  • Collaborates with Sales & Account Management to adequately identify risks and opportunities to current financial forecasts/plans.

  • Partners with management and other EyeMed leadership on new projects.

  • Provides financial support for Business Development activities focused on acquisition of new clients, and provides direction and support for significant strategic product development activities.

  • Supports EyeMed Finance in ad hoc financial analyses and project work as necessary.

  • Effectively demonstrates and applies financial concepts with a complete and thorough understanding of EyeMed products, associated benefits, reimbursements and related financial reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of analytical experience, focused on underwriting, pricing and/or financial modeling

  • Proficient in MS Excel

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills

  • Solid grasp and knowledge of the principles of finance to apply to business problems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to respond resourcefully to change and ambiguity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or MS/MA in Economics, Statistics, Finance, or Accounting

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial management, with Insurance product management, pricing, or underwriting responsibilities.

  • Ability to draw logical conclusions based on a clear grasp of the information and interrelationships between issues

  • Thinks strategically and analytically with all respects to financial analysis
