Manage all aspects of Collections for EyeMed, including leading the administration and resolution of Collections issues in a timely manner that satisfies the clients, members, and EyeMed. Liaison with Account Management, Finance, Legal, Cash Application, Billing, Compliance, Claims Processing Management and other internal customers to resolve processing issues, identify systems issues that require workarounds or system initiatives, and provide support for various compliance / audit requests. Responsible for monthly financial analysis, including calculation and communication of Days Sales Outstanding. Identify trends in client payment history to understand the underlying reason for non/short payment


Maintain proper internal controls and risk management with respect to the Collections area

  • Responsible for analysis of account receivables and the resolution of payments/invoice discrepancies.

  • Develop, maintain, monitor and report against department standards that are aligned with management’s expectations

Effectively supervise and monitor Collections employees

  • Hold regular team and one-on-one meetings with direct reports.

  • Coordinate communication to employees regarding new procedures, system enhancements, and process changes.

  • Effectively communicate goals and expectations to employees. Communicate status and progress toward achieving goals to team members.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews and career development plans for employees.

  • Effectively delegate tasks in order to provide new challenges and growth opportunities to employees.

  • Ensure Collections employees meet agreed upon performance standards in both productivity and accuracy. Proactively develop remediation plan for team when standards are not being met.

Drive Key Performance Indicators

  • Coordinate issue resolution process and distribute timely and relevant reporting on open items.

  • Responsible for monitoring, coaching against, and reporting on staff productivity and accuracy.

  • Identify client payment issues and work to resolve the underlying issue

Complete monthly close process, including but not limited to:

  • Bad Debt Reserve analysis and DSO analysis

  • Complete monthly write-offs while providing estimated financial impact

Work closely with clients and company management to:

  • Complete Days Sales Outstanding projections and compare actual results to those projections

  • Explain variances between actual and projected bad debt expense

  • Identify and execute special projects that add value to the EyeMed business

  • Provide input regarding Accounts Receivable processes on key strategic initiatives and system implementations

  • Provide resources for testing of key system changes and provide feedback to project leaders

  • Manage collections process for large reseller clients


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 6+ years of process management experience

  • 6+ years of supervisory experience in a financial or claims-related production environment

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong working knowledge of software programs (specifically Excel and Business Objects), with query reporting skills

  • Strong financial acumen managing Bad Debt Reserves, AR adjustments and forecasting

  • Strong customer service focus

  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task


  • Working knowledge of interface systems that include SAP and Facets.

  • Understands third party benefits and administration
